Overall Responsibilities: The Senior National Account Manager serves as the Samsung contact for one or more consumer electronic categories within Walmart. This individual is responsible for achieving annual sales and commercial spend targets through the sales of Samsung products and programs to assigned customers. He/she is involved in the activation of category roadmaps to achieve the pricing, promotion, shelving, and assortment objectives. The Senior National Account Manager reports to the Sales Director.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Develops and ensures alignment for annual business planning internally and with customer
Is responsible for new item sell-in and throughout product life cycle (item setup, in-store placement, sell-thru, forecasting, in-stock, pricing, EOL)
Ensures promotional alignment internally and with customer
Owns the business strategies for the customer’s online platform
Ensures in-store alignment, support and communication
Optimizes customer contribution for selected categories
Provides direction to field sales team to ensure in-store activation and execution
Tracks plan progress and conducts periodic reviews with customer
Supports the identification and development of selling strategies, tactics and solutions
Customizes sell-out presentations and other materials provided by the Customer Development Organization (CDO) to the needs of assigned customers
Partners to develop and enhance CDO work outputs and processes
Presents plans, recommendations, initiatives to customer to gain approval
Manages commercial spend to achieve sales volume goals and trade spend goals
Collaborates with Sales Finance Manager on financial reconciliation
20% likely (domestic and international)
- Success Requirements:
Contribution toward quarterly and annual sales targets for assigned customer(s)
Activation of department and category roadmap initiatives
Appropriate and accurate commercial spend management
High quality sell-out presentations and other customer materials
Significant contribution toward customer team success
- Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or related field
5+ years of experience selling to Walmart/ Sam’s Club or another national electronics retailer
- Preferred Requirements:
Master’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or related field
10+ years of experience in sales or related field
Necessary Skills / Attributes
Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve sales objectives and to complete assignments within established time frames. Skilled in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company to promote sales results. Demonstrated competency in persuasive communication skills using both oral and written modes for internal and external personnel at all management and staff organizational levels. The ability to accept tasks and problems/situations that differ, requiring creativity to develop solutions to accomplish the desired goal. Interact with all levels within the organization and has frequent external contacts.
