HERC Rentals Director, Tax Accounting in Bonita Springs, Florida

  • Review non-U.S. tax provision calculations and resolve income tax accounting issues

  • Manage current and deferred tax reporting for all domestic and foreign legal entities pursuant to ASC 740. Includes analysis and determination of valuation allowances, APB 23 and FAS 52 translation adjustments.

  • Analyze potential tax exposures and determine appropriate tax reserves pursuant to Company policy, ASC 740, and FAS 5. Prepare and maintain all required documentation to support tax reserves and for discussion with attest auditors.

  • Manage tax footnotes and other income tax disclosures for SEC filings.

  • Manage and analyze legal entity current and forecasted P&L’s and evaluate income tax accounting issues. Analyze monthly variances to determine impact on tax accounting.

  • Manage quarterly SOX 404 internal control procedures for tax processes and ensure all processes are properly documented and tested. Coordinate with internal and attest auditors for control testing.

  • Monitor and provide analysis of legislative and regulatory developments. Evaluate potential impact of tax legislation on the company and recommend the proper course of action.

  • Provide tax support and help ensure tax compliancy for corporate treasury initiatives such as, inter-company capital structuring, tax-related debt covenant provisions etc.

  • Assist with managing global tax audits and resolving tax controversies

  • Manage and oversee Federal, state & local income tax, compliance functions to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and that all tax returns are filed accurately and timely.

  • Collaborate with Business Partners and other functional leaders within the organization and outside advisors to address all tax related issues

  • Manage the Tax Matters Agreement as well as Transaction Services Agreement and any other agreement relating to the Separation from tax perspective


Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • Minimum Ten years of diverse tax experience preferably in public accounting and large multi-national company.

  • Active learner with strong leadership and development, analytical / problem solving and written / verbal communication skills.

  • Strong applied knowledge base of accounting, global income tax, and GAAP rules.

  • Proficient in Sarbanes Oxley 404 rules and their application to all tax functions.

  • Ability to develop and implement "Best Practice" processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Proven self-starter and decision maker that follows through on projects through completion

  • Strong tax return documentation skills

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely & accurately with minimal supervision

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Microsoft Office Suite and other business software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, etc.)

Preferred Requirements :

  • Advanced degree in Taxation a plus Professional experience in both public accounting and public global multi-national company.

  • Hands on experience with tax software such as CorpTax
