WYOMING ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Wyoming Army National Guard. This position is located in the US Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO) Comptroller Division, Accounting Services Branch. The purpose of this position is to provide analysis, validation, processing, and correction of financial transactions and issues/discrepancies involving the full range of accounting services. Incumbent uses a complete understanding of inter-related work systems across multiple functional areas and their interoperability to ensure the validity and accuracy of all obligations, disbursements, collections/deposits, and adjustments related to financial records.
As a ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN, GS-0525-8, you will:
(1) Perform broad in-depth analysis on multiple management systems and apply this information to complicated precedent type cases to resolve especially difficult and sensitive, out of balance conditions associated with processing actions within accounting systems.
(2) Perform fact finding, research, and investigations to identify, analyze and recommend solutions regarding fiscal accounting activity.
(3) Examine accounts or resolve difficult reconciliations requiring an analysis of adjustments and corrections in accounts.
(4) Reconstruct inaccurate accounts, gathers and organizes information for inquiries and resolves problems referred by managers, employees, congressional inquiries, etc.
(5) Coordinate with internal/external financial/program management personnel to resolve issues and/or prevent accounting errors.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). The Selected applicant must complete an "I-9, Employment Verification" and a "Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department" prior to the appointment date. Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives. Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government unless noted in the Announcement. Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician. Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience, education, or training involving arithmetic principles, attention to detail, and application of established procedures for recording and compiling data. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 18 months experience, education, or training of total accounting procedures. Experience planning, organizing and coordinating work in order to resolve problems that occur.
NOTE:Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g. 02/2014 - 03/2016 or Feb 2014 - Mar 2016) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Continued employment in this position is subject to successfully obtaining and maintaining a Level 1 DoD Financial Management Certification within two years from entry on duty to the position unless the incumbent is already in a position that requires a Level 1 certification in which case he/she must complete the certification in the original 2-year period.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

Must not be currently involved in a workplace investigation that specifically involves yourself.
