This position will be based out of the Chicago market
with a territory including Chicago, OH, MI, IN, and WI.
The selected candidate must currently live
-- OR --
be willing to relocate to the Chicago market,
within daily commuting/driving distance to the MDW airport.
The Regional Corporate Relations Manager will focus on growing Southwest Airlines corporate account base through effective territory planning, account management and consultative sales techniques.
The primary responsibilities for this team will be to:
Grow Southwest Airlines market-share and incremental business with corporations with global managed travel programs (large regional accounts, approximately 200 accounts per manager).
Establish Southwest as a preferred carrier through formal agreements (RFP's, negotiations, long term contracts).
Produce high revenue-high yield business for Southwest AirlinesOffer Southwest fares and schedules through all channels of distribution, including SWABIZ, SGS, GDS, and other unconventional distribution tools that are in place.
Travel:This position will require weekly travel, up to 60%, including overnight trips.
Virtual - Home Office:These positions are virtual positions, requiring the team to work from a home office. The team will be supplied with the proper resources, i.e. sales training, promotional offers, computer, pda, etc, to allow them to successfully perform their duties.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Bachelor’s Degreerequired.
Must have 3 years experience present and/or past success in selling to large corporations or applicable marketing/airline experience.
Must have present and/or past success of increasing market-share and/or achieving sales goals consistently, through effective account management.
- Must be capable of attending trade shows to demonstrate products and services to an audience. Sets up booths, demonstrates product or service, answers questions, and disassembles booth at the end of the show.
Must be self-directed and resourceful to accomplish all position responsibilities with minimal direction, including the ability to work from a home based office.
Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall quality and efficiency. Able to administer policies and procedures that typically affect direct reports only.
Ability to work on cross-functional Commercial Teams (Sales Analytics, Revenue Management, Regional Planning & Performance, Network Planning, Marketing) to execute agreements and socialize new business opportunities for Southwest.
Ensures that sales activities and projects are completed on schedule following established procedures.
Solves complex problems, applying ingenuity and creativity; solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions. Contact with Internal Employees and outside Customer representatives at various levels concerning specific phases of projects or contracts.
Knowledgeable on the airline industry and competition with the ability to recognize travel trends.
Thorough knowledge of all Southwest Airlines distribution tools and multichannel distribution strategy (i.e. SWABIZ, Southwest Gateway Services, GDS, and other unconventional distribution tools), as well as the suite of business travel products and services.
Must be able to achieve sales activities under limited supervision
Participates in briefings and meetings for Internal and External representatives concerning specific phases of projects.
Must demonstrate the ability to prospect, cold call, and qualify corporate clients, within and outside the Southwest Airlines network.
Must have a proven track record of successful negotiation, networking and achieving targeted goals.
Must have strong presentation skills to executive level audiences.
Must possess excellent organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously.
Recognizes value-creating opportunities, helping Leader to identify and evaluate them. Must be able to communicate effectively and proactively to internal and external Customers and Leaders.
Must have judgment sufficient to handle and solve complex analytical travel data.
Must maintain accurate CRM account profiles and secure relevant account data
Must be proficient with MS Office Suite computer applications and CRM tool.
Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
Must have flexibility to work long hours, including weekends, and travel up to 60% of the time, including some overnight stays.
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
