Olympusat Staff Accountant/Production Coordinator (Colorado Office) in Evergreen, Colorado

We are seeking a solid Staff Accountant to be an accounting liaison between the Colorado base and Corporate office located in West Palm Beach, Florida.

This candidate will also be an integral part of the production team and manage a large portion of the planning associated with episodic television creation that takes place on location. This position is flexible with working from home with at least two days a week at the Evergreen office.

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Centralize collection of all accounts payable vendor invoices, code, obtain approval and process payment

  • Determine accruals and prepaid expenses based on invoice information

  • Initiate project codes and track all expenses

  • Create and report actualization of expenses as it relates to specific production projects

  • Centralize and organize the collection of corporate credit card receipts from field personnel for submission to Corporate Accounting

  • Code corporate credit card monthly statements obtained in Excel format from Corporate Accounting to general ledger accounts and project codes

  • Communicate with Corporate Accounting regarding monthly revenue billing and assist with collections of outstanding receivables

  • Research, communicate, and resolve discrepancies, credits, debits, and/or inquires with company vendors/customers while maintaining positive relationships

  • Assist in developing forecasts, reconciling project budgets, and monitor projects in progress ensuring acceptable deviations from targets

  • Organize, establish, and adhere to a monthly timetable to coordinate month end closing of the general ledger with Corporate Accounting

  • Write accounting and office management procedures

Production Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Assist field staff and contractors with travel arrangements

  • Communicate with municipality/county/state/federal governing agencies or business operations to obtain filming permits as needed

  • Coordinate with vendors and insurance providers in the procurement of insurance certificates

  • Create production “books” that aggregate and communicate all pertinent information related to a production job including travel/lodging information, locations/maps, nearest medical facility, scripts/storyboards, and invoicing instructions for vendors

  • Work with production staff to create and distribute daily call sheets to cast and crew of productions with up to the minute information including call time, locations, weather and other important information

  • Assist with clerical type tasks such as copying, setting up folders & binders, scanning, faxing, help with organization, reconciliations, reviewing reports, filing, etc.

  • Other general errands while maintaining a good driving record and duties as may be assigned from time to time

  • 3+ years of accounting experience including preparation of journal entries and full working knowledge of accrual accounting, accounts payable, and account receivable

  • Television production experience a plus

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as well as independently with minimal direct supervision

  • Ability to organize time effectively and meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical, organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, driven, and dedicated to 100% accuracy

  • Possess excellent listening and communication (verbally and in writing) skills with timely follow up to questions, inquiries, and issues

  • Technical experience with accounting systems (SAP Business One a plus)

  • Proficient with computer software and cloud computing including Google Docs/Sheets/Drive with an emphasis on strong Microsoft Excel skills including but not limited to the ability to create spreadsheets and formulas, sorting, subtotal, conditional formatting, and linking cells/sheets/workbooks

  • Proficient with office equipment: computers (Microsoft Windows operating system), printers, scanners, fax, and phones

Education:

Bachelors in Accounting or Business with a concentration in Accounting required
