10HR Accounting: Cross train to cover essential HR accounting functions such as IRS payments, garnishment and child support orders, pension and retirement vendor payments and eligibility, etc.Essential
25Labor Relations: Provide administrative support for Labor Relations functions including: Monitor Labor Relations email account answering basic questions and forwarding emails to appropriate persons, arranging travel and procurement for LR events essential to union contract negotiations and other functions, create memos for non-compliance to union members, and prepare monthly union membership reports. Resolve administrative questions or issues from LR Director, Union Representatives and other administrators. Assess needs and create reports to resolve questions from union representatives. This position monitors, prepares and projects expenses for the operations budget.Essential
25Labor Relations: Provide fiscal technician support for Labor Relations functions including: Prepare summary and statistical reports of system-wide employee grievances and settlements, prepare payments for union dues, faculty development funds, legal trust funds, faculty buy-outs, drug and alcohol testing vendor, etc. Create periodic reports for union leave banks and assure that appropriate journal vouchers and leave adjustments occur as specified in the CBA.Essential
40HR Accounting: Provide fiscal technician support for HR Accounting department including: preparation of bi-weekly and monthly vendor payments including the review and resolution of account reconciliations, prepare bi-weekly geographic and new hire reports, and reconcile Procards for department. Research and resolve vendor issues and questions that impact employees'' benefits. Responsible for identifying, reviewing and resolving errors and issues with Staff Benefit funds for the entire UA system.Essential

This position is an integral part of the accounting team that supports the HR accounting functions of the university system. Initiative, independence, and strict adherence to deadlines while exercising sound fiscal judgment and problem-solving skills is essential to the successful candidate. This position works with a wide variety of people which make good written and oral communication skills essential.

Education and/or training required for this position (including licenses)
Minimum one year of college course work in accounting or related field.
Type and length of experience required for this position
Two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position
Knowledge of the existing Collective Bargaining Agreements especially those associated with items impacting payment to members or union organization. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Able to express ideas clearly, effectively, and persuasively, orally and in writing. Able to establish/maintain effective working relationships with team members, Labor Relations Director, campus HR offices and labor representatives. Able to handle multiple tasks, adapting to change as necessary. Able to meet deadlines/ objectives. Advanced skills in MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent verbal, written and oral presentation skills. Demonstrated experience in using an automated accounting or HR software systems.
