KeyBank Commercial Lines Account Manager in Rochester, New York

Job Description:

Working under general supervision, the Account Manager coordinates all client service activities for an assigned group of clients, resolves customer service problems, and develops strong relationships. Develops a comprehensive understanding of insurance carriers and the products they offer. Reviews the client’s current insurance program, determines alternative options, and presents to the client. Understands and responds to customer needs, tracks and monitors account activity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for small to mid-size client relationships and account retention, and assist in developing comprehensive risk management solutions in conjunction with other account team members

  • Work under general supervision, to inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusion, and insurance coverage needs

  • Maintain service relationships with the client managing day-to-day account activities

  • Prepare data for client discussions

  • Participate during the review of policies and endorsements, order any necessary corrections from the carrier, and ensure documents are sent to the client on a timely basis

  • Prepare, in conjunction with other account team members, coverage analysis (proposal) for client presentations

  • Update policies and produce bills and other client documents following agency standards

  • Function in a team environment to handle phone calls, email messages and agency management system tasks

  • Assist with annual enrollment activities including implementing modifications and updates, preparing materials and attending educational meetings as needed

  • Assist with the renewal and new line of coverages with appropriate insurance carriers

  • Assist in designing insurance programs for clients. Meet and present such designs and recommendations to other account team members and/or clients

  • Visit clients in conjunction with other account team members to maintain knowledge of the client’s operations and establish a working relationship

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of both electronic and non-electronic data

  • Educate and onboard clients and promote agency resources as appropriate

  • Refer current and prospective clients to appropriate divisions

  • Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, internal compliance policies and external compliance requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some college education or associate degree and at least three years of relevant experience or combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of insurance products and usages

  • Must maintain required professional designations and insurance licenses

  • Knowledge of insurance markets, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations Ability to utilize math skills to assist in compiling and analyzing various data components and possess a basic understanding of risk analysis

  • Ability to utilize computers and understand functionality. Proficient in Microsoft product skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • High degree of self-discipline, motivation and ability to work well individually and in a team environment

  • Organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize action items

  • Problem solving, customer service, persuasion and negotiation skills

  • Interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license or have transportation available when needed to attend client and carrier meetings

  • Satisfactory completion of agency testing requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment

  • Maintain and commit to a predetermined work schedule

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position

  • Travel required within incumbent’s region and occasionally to other regions

  • Travel percentage 10%
