The Assistant Accounting Manager directly supervises team members in the Accounting Department. Responsible for assuring that gaming and non-gaming activities of the casino are verified, calculated and reported properly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work of Audit Clerks for accuracy and completeness.

  • Fill-in for Audit Clerk when necessary.

  • Prepares MGC Daily Tax Transmittal and remits taxes due.

  • Counts, audits and balances all revenue and expense related documents with revenues received and expenses paid.

  • Prepare daily revenue reports, expense reports, win percentages and records revenue and expenses to daily posting sheets.

  • Prepare journal entries to the general ledger.

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of Balance Sheet Accounts.

  • Review financial and statistical reports for accuracy and reasonableness.

  • Accounts Payable duties including submitting invoices to department heads for approval, posting invoices to computerized accounting systems, maintaining Purchase Order Log, vendor maintenance, selection of invoices for payments, filing of payment stubs and invoices, comparing vendor statements to internal records, resolve any vendors disputes, and preparation of manual checks.

  • Review, collect and follow up on Accounting Exception Reports.

  • Safeguards assets of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must be able to obtain a Level II MGC Gaming License. Associates or Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or related field experience required (significant Accounting work experience may be substituted). Must have previous supervisory experience. Previous gaming related experience preferred. Must have demonstrated computer skills in spreadsheet, database and work processing applications in a Windows operating environment. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
