Key challenges/specific functions
Make a substantial input to forecasting and setting sales forecast and expense budgets for the region.
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Ensure strong relationships are forged with customers who are of strategic importance.
Understanding the client's objectives, buying criteria and decision making processes and forming long term business partnerships in order to leverage revenue from the relationship and promote the organisation as a quality supplier with the aim of achieving "preferred" supplier status.
Identify, classify and develop key sales & marketing prospects in conjunction with marketing.
Manage profile of prospect list by targeted order date, order size and order type to achieve divisional sales and contribution budgets.
Provide commercial advice & recommendations to General Manager to assist in order success.
Maintain regular communication with other members of the division to advise of potential opportunities outside immediate area of responsibility.
Monitor competitive activity and advise General Manager & Marketing of any technical or commercial development.
Monitor competitive products/initiative & application opportunities to recommend additions/deletions/enhancements to product range to build leadership in existing or emerging markets.
Ensure compliance with relevant procedures including contract review.
Monitor & audit final implementation of performance of system to ensure customer requirements have been met.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and adhere to business ethics code.
Any tasks responsibly assigned by management.
Ensure that work is carried out in a safe manner.
Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline.
Proven sales and management ability (3+ years) including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and excellent communication skills.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to drive the sales team.
Understanding OH&S requirements.
Strong understanding of financial outcomes and ability to meet critical deadlines.
Skilled at selling in a range of sales lifecycles.
Ability to interact and liaise with all team members.
Ethical, ambitious and detail orientated.
Ability to be flexible and resourceful in the face of challenging situations.
