This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties for the Consumer Products business. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong presentation skills and a desire to acquire new proficiencies are keys to this position. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: The Senior Accountant position will perform accounting dutiesso that the incumbentmay gain experience, which will allow for advancement to positions of greater responsibility and technical ability throughout the company. Responsibilities: Process and report finished goods inventory Perform analysis on finished good inventory cost Support changes to inventory processing and reporting for accuracy in the balance sheet Perform balance sheet account reconciliations Support month-end closing activities Work with internal/external auditors to assist with requests/questions Provide reporting and review results with internal customers to assist with questions Support LIFO calculation process and preparation of tax paperwork Participate in special financial projects and process improvements initiatives What You Will Need: Education Required: Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business GPA of 3.0 or higher Basic Qualifications: At least3 yearsof accounting or financial analysis experience Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automation Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing) Knowledge Skills Abilities: Basic understanding of General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner Strong customer focus with analytical, financial and economic thinking skills Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment Good communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work in a team environment Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others What Will Put You Ahead Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting course work Minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting Coursework Public Accounting, Large Company Corporate Accounting or Manufacturing Environment preferred SAP knowledge / experience Why Work For GP?
