University of Minnesota Physicians Accountant II - 1.0 FTE in Minneapolis, Minnesota
As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. The Accountant II performs complex accounting, fiscal, and operational research and analysis to provide financial results and problem solve. The position analyzes financial transactions and reports, extracts and clarifies relevant information, and interprets data to determine past financial performance and/or to project financial probability. The Accountant II records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, produces and develops financial reports, and provides and interprets financial transactions for business decision-makers. Additionally, the position is responsible for cross-functional analyses of business processes and the recording of the payroll personnel into the correct General Ledger departments Duties include, but are not limited to: Participate in and Contribute to Monthly Close Procedures Support contract revenue functions with detailed understanding and execution of the monthly Management Service Agreement Perform monthly variance analysis to budget and forecast, as needed with a focus on contract revenues Conduct other accounting-related research and investigations on an ad-hoc basis Completely understand and document business processes Lead and Assist in Developing Tools and Metrics to Aid in Assessment of Analysis of cash and treasury functions In order to qualify for this role, you must possess: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field 2+ Years of Accounting or closely related Experience Microsoft Office including strong Excel Excellent communication abilities.
