Chenango County Principal Account Clerk Vacancy in Norwich, New York


The Chenango County Auditor’s Office has an immediate opening for a confidential Principal Account Clerk. Duties involve responsibility for performing difficult and responsible account keeping and claims investigation functions.

To qualify candidates must possess EITHER an Associate’s Degree or higher in accounting, business administration or a closely related field and have 2 yrs. of paid work experience in the compilation and maintenance of financial accounts and records, 1 yr. of which must have been in a supervisory capacity OR 60 college credit hours which included at least 9 credit hours in accounting or bookkeeping and 2 yrs. of the above work experience, 1 yr. of which was in a supervisory capacity, OR a HS diploma or GED and 4 yrs. of the required work experience 2 yrs. of which was in a supervisory capacity.

The position pays $32,000 annually and includes full benefits. Successful completion of a civil service examination to be held at a later date will be required for permanent appointment.
