The Account Executive will work directly with both existing and prospective customers to identify, qualify and advise on a distributed database solution. You will be on the front line driving Sales and increasing market share in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Craft effective strategies to capture and expand business in mid-tier and emerging market early stage companies.
Prepare strategies and plans for specific account targets, and in the context of an overall thorough territory business plan.
Qualify customers' requirements and needs, and effectively articulate DataStax' ability to meet these needs.
Create presentations and demos for customers that highlight the capabilities and operational simplicity of DataStax products.
Customize and adapt presentations for audiences with differing levels of tech experience.
Maximize DataStax’ success through effective product positioning, as well as mentoring and supporting reseller and service delivery partners.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DataStax' competitive positioning in the marketplace, and prepare activity and forecast reports as requested
Meet or exceed an assigned ARR bookings quota.
Initiate new contacts through networking, response to incoming leads, and cold-calling to increase client base.
Provide account and territory insights and trend data to Sales Management, Product Management and Marketing.
Prior Solutions Engineer experience highly preferred.
Prior Sales experience in a closing role desirable.
5 years of experience participating in sales to range of Enterprise to mid-tier/start-up stage companies, targeted to Executive level, Operations and Development, with a verifiable track record of contributing to territory quota achievement.
5 or more years experience with traditional RDBMS including Architecture, Data Modeling, performance tuning, and configuration.
Good knowledge of datacenter architecture, particularly multi-datacenter and global deployments both on premise and cloud based
Previous knowledge and exposure to Apache Cassandra and/or DataStax Enterprise extremely desirable
Knowledge or experience with Apache Solr and Apache Spark a plus
Knowledge of distributed systems desirable. As well as experience with Hadoop or similar technology.
Experience translating technical sales into business value that solves business problems.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for a variety of audiences.
Demonstrates leadership skills.
Able to travel at least 25% of the time.
Location: based in Bay Area, but open to location anywhere in USA
