Position Summary:

Reporting to a manager or higher, the Account Executive II is a full-time position. Under moderate supervision, the Account Executive II is responsible for account management support and establishing partnership relationships to increase student enrollment and encourage retention. Account Executive IIs may function either as support for account owners for large to medium accounts or as the lead (account owner) for small accounts. The Account Executive II is expected to represent Ashford University to the corporate community in a professional and service-oriented manner. The position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish account performance goals. Travel is required.

Account Management/Student Enrollment:

  • Development and execution of account strategies. This includes establishing high-level account performance targets such as APPINs and active students.

  • Development and execution of account plans. This includes developing partner engagement, student recruitment strategies, and event strategies.

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting progress against account performance targets and updating account plans in order to achieve the targets. This includes preparation of materials for internal and external account reviews. Account Executive IIs may develop and deliver presentations to small and large groups.

  • Provide weekly activity reports to their managers as well as real-time documentation of activities via tools such as Salesforce.

  • Expected to be customer service oriented and achieve high levels of partner and student satisfaction. Respecting our partners' cultures, comporting with their ethos and all outreach guidance, and being responsive to partner/student issues are critical to long-term success in this role.

  • Achieve a high degree of collaboration with other members of the account team whether they are functioning in a support role to an Account Owner for large to medium partnerships or as the lead (account owner) for small partnerships. Account owners and Account Executive IIs collaborate and work side-by-side to ensure partners understand the full range of benefits available to the company and employee.

  • Responsible for customer relationship management. Account Executive IIs work with account owners and partners to define the communications cadence and format which best serves the partner's needs and develops a foundation for long-term account growth.

  • Responsible for understanding any account sensitivities (e.g. no solicitation, limitations on LDG participation, and TPA processes), communicating these sensitivities to the rest of the account team, and ensuring compliance.

  • Achieve engagement across partners' entire business geographic footprint, including operations divisions. This includes developing a deep understanding of partner strategic needs and solutions to address these needs. Account Executive IIs will engage with Ashford University academics to determine opportunities for partner focused academic offerings as well as to provide the academic team market insight.

  • Responsible for student outreach. Communicating partner benefits to potential students is critical to account performance. This includes mail announcements, company newsletters, webinars and in-person events (e.g. newsletters, internal electronic information boards, e-mail announcements, teleconferences, table sits, lunch & learns, staff meetings, posters & account specific flier distribution, paycheck stuffers).

  • Responsible for event management and support. This includes scheduling and executing events independently and, as appropriate, working with Education Partnerships Representatives to provide guidance for event scheduling and execution.

  • Responsible for the student experience within their accounts. This includes working with Enrollment Services, Student Services, and Financial Services team members as necessary

  • Maintain a detailed understanding of markets, segments, and segment organizations with a focus on identifying those entities which align with Ashford University's strategic objectives.

  • Stay apprised of current events within the markets while maintaining current and thorough knowledge of all the degree programs, plus applicable regulatory, operational, and compliance guidelines of the industry and the University.

  • Be conscientious and responsible with company resources including monthly expense reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.

  • Strong business acumen; the ability to recognize marketing and business development opportunities and to pursue them strategically.

  • Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and excellent implementation of tasks/projects.

  • Must have proven results in business development.

  • Proven track record of producing measurable value to their department.

  • Both a self-starter and a team-player, able to perform in a fast-paced environment.

  • High degree of self-determination and motivation, with driving sense of responsibility, accountability, preparation, responsiveness and service.

  • Must be able to multi-task and meet daily/weekly deadlines.

  • Must have a valid driver's license applicable to the State in which position is located.

  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.

  • PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills required.

  • Strong commitment to quality and accuracy.

  • Minimum of 2+ years related experience.

  • Experience in the higher education market and industry desired.

  • Experience in working from a home office environment preferred.

  • Business development and/or sales experience of non-tangible or service-oriented items.
