Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Support all revenue cycle initiative accordingly, Daily posting of medical insurance and patient payments. Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality guidelines. Full-time with benefit package.

  • Accurately post charges and reconciles entries on a daily basis.

  • Accurately posts payments and applicable adjustments to accounts while maintaining balance sheets.

  • Processes and balances daily deposits and credit card transactions.

  • Researches and processes refund requests and overpayments

  • Research and resolve balance control issues.

  • Ability to read patient account information, insurance explanation of benefits, computer screens and financial records.

  • Communicates with patients/insurance companies to answer questions and provide additional supporting documentation.

  • Prepares and maintains daily, weekly and monthly reports.

  • Answers phones and assists patients with accounts.

  • Generates, processes and posts electronic remittances.

  • Performs additional duties including but not limited to copying checks received faxing information as required, generating retroactive authorization requests, and verifying medical eligibility.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality, has access to patient information used within Advanced Surgical Hospital that relates to his or her job description which is minimally necessary to accomplish the intended purpose of the use of disclosure.


  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience with cash balancing and data entry skills with knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes and diagnosis codes preferred. Strong analytical, research, problem solving skills preferred.
