Our Client is a dedicated leader in the Electric Power industry who deliver solutions, services and knowledge throughout the industry. Their equipment and software are designed to improve operations and optimize system performance of transformers and other electric power equipment. Essential Functions: The Payroll and Accounting Specialist to support the Controller and Accounting Manager and is responsible for the timely and accurate processing, recording and reporting of the company's payroll.
Perform U.S. Payroll Processing (bi-weekly, multi-state and ad-hoc) for up to 400 employees
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits; Preparation, verification and funding of 401K transfer
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
Work closely with Human Resource team to ensure that payroll administration and related procedures comply with personnel policies
Process accurate and timely month-end and year- end closings, financial and tax audits
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
Processes accounts payable as they specifically relate to payroll, maintains accuracy of vendor records and works with managers to charge appropriate expense accounts.
Act as back up to accounts payable clerk and assist as needed to process invoices, expense reports and other related AP responsibilities.
Maintains and reconciles subsidiary ledgers for payroll related accounts.

Requirements: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 7 to 10 years of payroll experience in a complex corporate environment.
Must possess detail knowledge of payroll, tax and accounting concepts.
Must have proven ability in improving payroll systems through feed automation and enhanced reporting.
The ability to keep information confidential and communicate with the utmost of discretion.
The person must have a high attention to detail and the ability to follow logical steps.
The capacity to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast pace team environment.
Ability to independently plan and organize one's own activities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to interface within all levels of the organization.
Proficient with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
